Due to the continuing uncertainty regarding the changes in Alert Levels and the potential impact that this will have on the viability of the scheduled 2021 JNZ National Championships, Wellington Area and JNZ have jointly decided to reschedule the event, in a limited form, to Saturday 4th of December.
The rescheduled event will be held in Kapiti and is limited to Senior Men and Women, and Junior Men and Women divisions only.
This is due to the unavailability of suitable venues to host a full event covering all divisions and Kata, and that the athletes in these divisions are most in need of competition mat time as they move to international competitions early next year in their respective bids for Commonwealth Games selection.
Factors considered included the financial and practical viability of the event operating under Alert Levels 1 or 2, and potential equity and welfare issues for those members to have, or continue to have, sufficient training time to be “match fit” for a national level event.
New event information and on-line entry will be available shortly.
