JNZ Member Wins Silver At Japan Masters Judo Championships
Al Green (KOD AK) has returned from Tokyo after a month training at the Kodokan where - aside from the daily Randori in the main Dojo - he continued to develop his knowledge of Ju no Kata, being tutored by renown experts Umezu Sensei (9th Dan) & Takebuchi Sensei (8th Dan).
Al then traveled to Ageo City Saitama-ken and participated in the 20th annual Japan Masters Judo Championship. In the Team Event he was an invited member of the Swedish contingent who were short one man in the 70+ age division. Al won his first fight and drew his second but unfortunately the Team were eliminated in the second round.
The following day, Al competed in the Individual Shia M9 (70-74 age), -90Kg weight division and was placed second. Al said that he "is grateful and humbled for the opportunity to compete against such experienced and tough players".
