New Zealand’s Hayden Brosius (JNH AK) was our sole competitor.  He  drew a Hungarian first up, who proved too strong with Hayden losing after 3 minute 50 seconds by ippon.

Diane then moved onto Prague for their Senior European Open on 27-28 June, as it hosted 412 judoka from 38 countries, joining 26 fellow referees across three mats. She had the honour of being selected to referee the under 70kg final featuring number one seed and 2023 world silver medalist Giovanna Scoccimarro of Germany. She won a hard fought match by ippon against her compatriot Tanja Gruenewald.

Both competitions were held in hot conditions.  The temperature in Berlin was 32 and 33 degrees over the weekend while in Prague it was a sweltering 38 and 39 degrees.
