Diane Limbrey (WEL-WN) and Craig Bartlett (HOW-AK) were selected to referee at the Cadet, Junior and Senior Panamerican - Oceania Championships held in Calgary, Canada on 8, 9 and 15-16 September respectively and the teams competitions held for all three competitions on 10 and 17 September.
Diane was fortunate to referee the prestigious under 100kg final on day two of the senior event between local Canadian favourite Shady Elnahas and Brazil’s Leonardo Goncalves. Elnahas won by ippon making it four consecutive title wins for him.
Congratulations to both our referees representing NZL at the highest levels.
During the week in between they attended, along with Patrick Lam (WEL, WN), a well attended IJF Refereeing and Coaches Seminar run by Daniel LasĨau, the IJF head refereeing director.
