Obituary - Leon Riley
JNZ is sad to announce the passing of Leon Riley (Sandan), at the age of 92.
Leon started Judo in 1968 at Henkada. He was a Life Member of Henkada and Waikato Area, and served as Area President for eight years. In this capacity he was a JNZ Officer as part of the NZJF Management Board.
He was also the NZL Team Co-manager for the Oceania Championships in 1979.
The JNZ Diploma of Merit was awarded to Leon in 1999 in recoginition of his service to Judo.
A cellebration of Leon's life will be held at Woolertons Funeral Home Chapel, 8 Railside Place, Dinsdale, Hamilton, on Thursday 29th June 2023 at 1.00pm.
