Qona Christie (WEL WN) secured the gold medal at the Mandurah OJU Open in the -63kg category.
Other results for NZL athletes included 7th places for Hayden Brosius (JNH AK) and Mathew Woods (CHR CA).
Qona is also the current recipient of the Jim McPhee Award.
