The New Zealand Olympic Committee is due to announce the Judo team selections for the Games at 8.30 am Friday 13 May, but this will not be televised live.

The combined Panamerica Oceania Championships were held in Lima, Peru over the weekend.
This was a Senior only event, and a small NZL team competed. Moira Koster (CJA CA) continued her fine form with a bronze in the -78kg category, and Kody Andrews (CJA CA) placed 7th in the +100 mens category.
Congratulations to Moira and the rest of the team.

Further success for NZL team members at the Algiers African Open this weekend, with two medals in the Women's -78kg category.
Moira Koster (CJA CA) racked up anothe gold medal and Hayley Mackey (CJA CA) a bronze in the same category.

NZL team members continue to achieve podium results at Continental Opens.
Moira Koster (CJA CA) won gold in the -78kg category at the Tunis African Open, and Qona Christie (WEL WN) achieved bronze in the -57kg category.

Following on from last weekend, NZL team members Sydnee Andrews (GIS WB) and Moira Koster (CJA CA) both achieved bronze medal success at the Prague European Cup in the +78 and -78 categories respectively.

NZL athletes have been competing with some success at international events over the weekend.
Qona Christie (WEL WN) won the Sydney Open-57 Senior Women's title.
Moira Koster (CJA CA) achieved a podium bronze medal at the Warsaw European Open in the -78 category - a great result for Moira in her return to international competition.
Congratulations to the medallists and all the other athletes who competed over the weekend.

Judo New Zealand is proud to announce that Life Member Jim McPhee (JNH AK) has been made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in the 2022 New Year's Honours list, in recognition for services to Judo.
We congratulate Jim (and his family) for the recognition of decades of tireless contribution to Judo at all levels - a snapshot of some of his roles is attached.
